Adventist Health and the Tulare Local Healthcare District held a celebration on September 22.
The hospital, which hosted the event, is celebrating 75 years in the community, and the Tulare Local Healthcare District is celebrating 80 years of helping advance Tulare's health infrastructure, including supporting the hospital and its future.
During the event, community leader Pat Hillman and her family announced a historic donation, the largest gift in the hospital's 75-year history, totaling $1,000,000.
Hospital leaders also shared updates on the Tulare Tower project. A preconstruction phase of the project has launched, which will provide detailed plans, cost estimates, scheduling, and other information necessary to competitively bid and complete the first two floors of the Tower.
The first floor will provide the community with new and expanded emergency services and medical imaging. The second floor will feature modern, state-of-the-art surgical suites.
The new emergency, imaging, and surgical facilities will help attract physicians and specialists back to Tulare, expand local access to care, and reduce the need for residents to travel out of town for important medical services.
Currently, Adventist Health Tulare offers 24-hour emergency care, intensive care, cardiology, stroke care, surgery, imaging, and laboratory services, with breast care services coming soon.
