The owners of the first Dill Dinkers Pickleball Club in the South Valley are hopeful that their indoor pickleball center at 700 S. Bridge St., Visalia, will open by the end of September.
"On our end, we are ready to open by late August," said Bill Revilla, who with his wife, Georgia, are co-owners of the new facility. "However, the city has to still provide us a temporary certificate of occupancy."
The temporary certificate from the city will determine when Dill Dinkers opens its doors.
"In the meantime, we're very busy preparing and making sure all of our Dill Dinkers-related construction is done," Revilla said. "Our fences are up. All the chain links, they're all up. And right now, as we speak (in early August), our audio-visual video crew are installing our cameras, our TVs, and our smart devices."
"We're in the process of hiring ambassadors (front desk employees)," he said. "We actually published through Instagram and Facebook, an ad for retirees who would like to work in the club, and we got inundated with a lot of retirees showing up and calling and sending their resumes."
