The annual Heart of Seniors "Spectacular Resource Event" Luncheon, hosted by the Senior Coalition, usually held in mid-February at the Wyndham Hotel in Visalia, will not be held in 2022.

The event, which includes a vital resource fair with vendors, a fashion show with the latest in fashion for the mature woman, a luncheon and a keynote speaker, was also canceled last year.

"Unfortunately, the decision has been made to postpone the event one more year," said committee member Staci Correa. "It was a hard decision to make but the last thing we would want to do is put anyone at risk."

"The past few months have been unpredictable in many ways." said committee member Kathleen Remillard. "Making the decision to cancel the event was not an easy one, but this new COVID variant is still very active and we are uncertain how long it will be with us. In consideration of the health and safety of the participants, vendors and speakers, we have decided not to plan this event in 2022."

Despite the cancellation, Correa is very optimistic about the future of the event.

"This has been a very well attended event for years and I know our senior community will be excited to attend again when it's safe," she said.
